Michael J. Davis is an attorney with Michael J. Davis Inc.. He was formerly a partner with Archer Bay PA, and Springer Brown Covey Gaertner and Davis in Chicago, Illinois. He has practiced law for 30 years, concentrating his practice in advising both business and consumer clients as to their options regarding business formation, compliance, State and Federal commercial litigation, purchases and sales of businesses, debt resolution, workouts, and asset liquidation. He has participated in hundreds of cases in State, Bankruptcy and Federal Court. He has represented clients in Ponzi scheme, securities fraud, fraudulent transfer, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, and alter ego cases.
He is licensed to practice law in Illinois, and Colorado and is a member of the Colorado Bar Association, the Business Committee of the Colorado Bar Association and the American Bankruptcy Institute. He is a past chairperson of the Bankruptcy Committee of the DuPage County Bar Association, and was Editor in Chief of the DCBA Brief, the Journal of the DuPage County Bar Association. He is a frequent contributor of articles relating to business issues in sales of businesses and piercing the corporate veil,and is a frequent speaker on the topic of business and litigation for Lorman Educational Services, the DuPage County Bar Association, and the Illinois State Bar Association.
He received B.A. with honors in 1975 from the University of Notre Dame, and his J.D. in 1980 from Vanderbilt University School of Law. He was a Director of the Moot Court Board and received the Outstanding Oralist Award in Advanced Appellate Advocacy.
